"This is just an update to let you know what city council did in response to Covid-19. On Tuesday March 17th, Councilmember Cleta Winslow and Andrea Boone introduced legislation on behalf of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. This legislation has allowed $7 million dollars to be taken from the reserve and at least $3.5 million dollars is ear marked for the following: Children’s meal programs, senior citizens meal programs, small business programs.
Please find attached the flyer that gives the distribution locations for the children’s bagged meals program. Families with children ages 5 to 18 can pick up bagged meals between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the listed city of Atlanta recreation centers. Food does run out quickly, please come at 4:00 p.m. if possible."
