Always wanted to learn more about the Atlanta Police Department? Then consider joining the next Citizens Police Academy this fall. Applications are due by August 27th, 2019. Classes start Tuesday, September 10th. All sessions take place on Tuesdays from 6:00-9:00pm.
You must be at least 21 years old, a resident or employee who works in Metropolitan Atlanta and be able to pass a background check. For an application, please contact Elizabeth Espy, Atlanta Police Community Events Director, at enespy@atlantaga.gov.
The Atlanta Citizens Police Academy includes twenty-plus hours of skilled and professional instruction delivered in three-hour sessions.
Classes topics may include: Department Overview, Crime Lab procedures, 911 operations, Airport, Narcotics, Internal Affairs, Identity Theft, Use of Force, Active Shooter, SWAT visit, homicide investigations and more!
The Citizens Police Academy is held at Atlanta Police Headquarters, 226 Peachtree St. SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303 unless otherwise specified.
