In response to popular demand, NPU-S leadership, in collaboration with Neighborhood Planning Units - NPU-I, NPU-T, NPU-X and NPU-R, is bringing the screening of a very popular film to our communities for the purpose of creating conversation around the availability of affordable housing and gentrification as it affects our south Atlanta communities. We believe your input would greatly enhance this conversation.

In partnership with The Baton Foundation, we will host a FREE screening of My Brooklyn: unmasking the takeover of America's hippest city on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. The screening will take place at VICARS, 838 Cascade Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30310. The film chronicles the gentrification in Brooklyn, NY, and serves as a cautionary tale for Atlanta's leadership and citizens. After the screening, Andre Dickens, Atlanta City Council member Post 3 At Large; Kate Little, an affordable housing advocate & President and CEO of Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc.; Rev. Michael Smith, Pastor of Community Church of God, a visionary leader and longtime community supporter; and Anthony Knight, Director of The Baton Foundation will facilitate an audience dialogue.
