From the Center for Civic Innovation:
Are you interested in how the City of Atlanta engages residents in decision-making? Would you like to learn more about how you can get involved in your neighborhood and shape its future? Have you heard about Neighborhood Planning Units (NPUs)?
If any of these questions have sparked your interest, the Center for Civic Innovation invites you to join us as we launch our NPU Initiative, a reimagining of community engagement in Atlanta.
At this event, you’ll learn about the beginnings of Atlanta’s NPUs, the city’s official community engagement process created in 1974 by Mayor Maynard Jackson. Hear from some of the original pioneers who helped create it as well as current key stakeholders in a panel-style discussion on the past, present, and future of NPUs in our city. We are excited to share our plan to review NPUs and let you know how you can get involved in our city’s decision-making process.
